Police foils DAK torch procession

SRINAGAR: The Doctors Association of Kashmir (DAK) today took out a torch procession here during the evening hours, demanding immediate action against those involved in the supply of ‘spurious drugs’ to valley.

According to reports, the protest demonstration was supported  by the Bar Association Kashmir, Medical Employees Forum, RTI activists, Private Diagnostic Association and several trade unions.

Demanding the stern action against the persons involved in the supply of spurious drugs to valley, DAK  members alleged  that the state government was acting as the shield to the culprits involved in the deadly trade.

Meanwhile, Police foiled the torch procession by arresting several persons leading the demonstrations including DAK president Dr. Nissar-ul-Hassan.

President SKIMS employees union G.M.Pandith  demanded immediate release of  the detained DAK president.

“We warn the government to release Dr. Nissar till October 9  or else we shall be compelled to shut down all the hospitals across valley .” said G.M.Pandith .
