SRINAGAR: State Government Friday appointed retired Judge of J&K High Court, Justice M.L. Koul as one man Commission of Inquiry to enquire in to the circumstances that led to the firing by CRPF personnel which resulted in the death of four persons in Shopian on September 7 last month.
The Commission will ascertain the identity of those killed in such incident and their involvement, if any, in the militancy related activities and also fix the responsibility of the said incident.
The Commission shall also perform all the functions necessary for holding of inquiry and submit its report to the government within a period of one month.
Reacting to the query made by PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Mir Saifullah informed the Assembly today that the process of shifting the CRPF camp from Gagran Shopian has already begun. It will be completely removed by October 10.
