Srinagar: Democratic Freedom Party Chiarman Shabir Ahmad Shah today expressed concern over the ‘reign of terror’ unleashed by Police and forces and unjustified arrest spree of youth in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to a statement, during the meeting at Anantnag, the members also held serious concern over the crackdown, raids, checking of houses and sabotaging the properties of the people of Kulgam Ghappabal, Kemoh and Khadoni areas by Army and forces. “The meeting said that to arrest and terrorize the innocent people including women and old-age persons on mere suspicious grounds is the worst crime and is intolerable.”

The members who participated in the meeting also condemned the government policy of continuously keeping incarcerated leaders which include Masrat Alam Bhat, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Mir Hafizullah, Muhammad Ishaaq Aitoo and Shakeel Ahamd Bhat under detention and re-slapping of PSAs on them. They said the endeavors of pro-freedom leaders and pro-Hurriyat people cannot be suppressed by suppression. The people’s pro-freedom spirit will not cool down by government’s anti-movement policies.
