SRINAGAR: A 21-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by two youth in the remote village Kalsian, Nowshera of Rajouri district.
According to details, a girl hailing from Kalsian area of Rajouri district was allegedly kidnapped from her residence by two youth when she was alone and was taken to a nearby forest area where she was allegedly raped.
As soon as the victim reached her house, she narrated the whole story to her parents following which her father lodged a case with the Nowshera Police Station.
A senior police official said that according to the complaint lodged with the police, the victim accused two local youth of kidnapping her from her home and then outraging her modesty in nearby forests. We are conducting the medical examination of girl and have launched a manhunt to nab the culprits, he said.
We have raided their residences but failed to arrest them, the official said, adding that the accused were identified by the girl as Rattan Lal, son of Atma Singh, resident of Chowki Handana and Harpal Singh, son of Rampal, resident of Nonihal, Nowshera.
Meanwhile, Police has registered a case FIR No. 188/13 under section 366/376 in this regard and further investigation is going on.
