MLA terms Singh’s UN speech ‘disturbing’

Srinagar: President Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) and MLA Langate Er Sheikh Abdul Rashid has termed the latest speech of the Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh delivered at United Nations General Assembly ‘confusing and disturbing’.

The MLA Langate said that Pakistan cannot stop ‘terrorist activities on its soil’ against India. In a statement, Er Rashid said that Pakistan itself is facing many hardships due to terrorism and it would be difficult for Pakistan to stop the ‘terrorist activities from its soil against India.’ However, Rashid mentioned   that if India resolves the Kashmir issue, Pakistan could use its offices to persuade Jihadi groups for a peaceful resolution of the conflicts.

Commenting on the recent speech of Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh at United Nations General Assembly , Er Rashid said that Singh has ‘mislead’ the world community and has revealed ‘true intentions’ of his Government visa-a-viz  Kashmir.

The MLA Langate has said Dr Singh on one point in his speech reiterated his stand of resolving all disputes with Pakistan and on the other hand  has termed Kashmir as the integral apart of his country.

He has further said that if India believes that Kashmir is its ‘integral part’ then it needs not to cry that it will resolve all disputes with Pakistan.
