Srinagar: Senior separatist leader and patron of Itihadul Muslimeen, Maulana Abbas Ansari Thursday claimed that the sectarian violence in parts of Budgam district was instigated by Indian agencies to make visiting US vice president Joe Biden believe that current strife in Kashmir was the outcome of internal rift between two sects of Muslims.
Molvi Abbas said that whenever any American lands on Indian soil, Kashmir has to bear the brunt. There are scores of Indian agencies operating in Kashmir which are working hard to divide the people on communal lines, he said in an interview.
The infighting between Kashmiri people in no way is going to serve the cause of freedom, Maulana said and cautioned New Delhi that it will not succeed in her designs in the long run. Sensible people of Kashmir would always resist such moves and would never give these agencies any chance to make a wedge between the people, Ansari said.
These elements who are responsible for the instigation of sectarian violence should understand that they are fewer in numbers and would never succeed in their nefarious designs, Ansari said adding that New Delhi was hell-bent to divide people of Kashmir on sectarian lines.
How could people achieve freedom from the clutches of India if they fall in the trap and fight with each other without any reason? Molvi Abbas said. (CNS)
