PM Visit: Much ado about nothing: Ansari

Srinagar: Senior Hurriyat Conference leader Maulana Abbas Ansari Thursday said that resistance leaders never expected anything from Prime Ministers visit.

“His (PM) visit was more or less apolitical. Hurriyat never trusts India and neither it wants to go to New Delhi with a begging bowl. Kashmir is a dispute and one day India has to talk on this issue,” Ansari told Kashmir based news gathering agency CNS adding that in the garb of so-called development, Kashmir issue can’t be put into cold storage.

Maulana Abas Ansari said that Hurriyat in past left no stone unturned in resolving the Kashmir issue amicably. “Our all efforts proved futile as the Government of India never displayed a serious and sincere attitude towards Kashmir problem,” he said.

He said that Hurriyat participated in so many Round Table talks with the Government of India but nothing came out from those talks as India was aiming at buying time only.

Ansari said that Prime Minister of India is harping on development and ignoring the real issue. “People of Kashmir want this issue to be resolved without any delay. Mere economic packages can’t help India to bury the truth,” he said. (CNS)
