Srinagar – Reacting to NC Provincial President, Devender Singh Ranas statement that PDP and BJP were two faces of the same coin, PDP today said it was NC that partnered BJP in 2008 alliance.
Reacting to Ranas allegations, PDP Chief Spokesperson, Nayeem Akhter said, In spite of having 65 members in the state Assembly they became a part of BJP led NDA and Omar Abdullah became a minster in Vajpayee cabinet. He was used as a poster boy by RSS and others to distort the Kashmir problem. That was the period when National conference sold out the Autonomy proposal passed by the state legislature unanimously.
He alleged that Farooq Abdullah signed away seven topmost power projects to NHPC when a BJP minster Late Kumar Manglam spent two days with him.
He said it was during that period that the Afzal Guru episode was created.
The history is witness that the NC leadership has given nothing in return to the people except exploiting them for their political gains, said Naeem.
He said time had come for the people to become part of a democratic movement for getting Azadi from the Mafia Raj perpetuated by NC for decades.
He said the present government had failed to build on the initiatives taken by the previous PDP-led coalition government for the betterment of the people. “People are getting punished for having a government that has earned highest disapproval rates in the history of the state for its inefficient performance,” he said.
