SRINAGAR: Expressing shock over the shameful deeds of recently exposed self-styled faith-healer, Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman, Syed Ali Shah Geelani Thursday claimed that such quacks enjoy the patronage of government and scores of bureaucrats assist and befriend these shameless people.
Demanding stern action against Gulzar Bhat Geelani warned people that Islam needs to be understood in right perspective where emphasis should be on learning the religion through the teachings of Quran and Sunnah.
Geelani said in a statement that unless and until this path is not followed imposters like Gulzar will continue to exploit the innocent people.
He said that it is not a matter of one or two fake Molvis, but the society was swarmed by such breed who are taking advantage of ignorance of the people and are exploiting them. He said that Islam is no way about superstitions but a complete guideline with logic and reason for living and successful life.
He said that unfortunately since Kashmiris were being subjugated for centuries they have remained ignorant and are easily caught in the web of such imposters who dupe people in the name of faith in Islam and thus these imposters make fortunes for themselves while making people fool in the name so called spirituality.
Geelani while expressing grief over recently exposed shameful acts of self-styled Darvesh said that if Muslim of Kashmir were aware of the teaching of Mir Syed Ali Hamadani (R.A) and Noor-u-Din Wali (R.A) no fake pir or dervish would have been able to exploit them.
