PC commemorates A G Lones anniversary in Kupwara
Dard-e-Harie (Kupwara): Senior Hurriyat Conference (M) leader and chairman of Peoples Conference (B) Bilal Gani Lone Wednesday said that Pakistan has been supporting the Kashmir cause at every level, but will they overtake us or over run us.
Addressing a largely attended public meeting here on the 11th anniversary of PC founder Abdul Gani Lone, he said, Kashmir is of Kashmiris and they only have the right to decide about their future. Pakistan has been supporting Kashmiris politically, diplomatically and morally. We are thankful to them for their support.
But help at what cost. They (Pakistan) are a party to dispute. I dont deny it. Will they (Pakistan) overtake us or over run us, Lone added.
He stressed on New Delhi and Islamabad to start dialogue process and included Kashmiris as principal party in it. Kashmiris are not slaves of anybody, he said.
On unity between two factions of Hurriyat, Lone said, If PC is a hurdle in unity we are ready to leave Hurriyat for the sake of unity. Even if PC is hurdle in solution of Kashmir issue, we are ready to quit.
But if somebody will level false allegations against the PC we wont tolerate that and give befitting reply to them, he warned.
Without naming anybody he said, Some people who have no contribution in freedom struggle have exploited the people in the name of freedom. Their sacrifices for freedom struggle are zero but they exploit the freedom movement.
On his difference with Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, the PC chairman said, I can have ideological differences with Geelani sahib, but he is like my uncle as he had very close association with my father.
Lashing out at Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and National Conference (NC), he said, Mufti and NC are now paying tributes to Mirwaiz Molvi Farooq. But the reality is that it was Mufti who was Union Home Minister when Mirwaiz sahib was martyred in May 1990. NC is commemorating the anniversaries of Mirwaiz which is nothing but vote bank politics.
When Lone sahib was martyred, Dr Farooq Abdullah was Chief Minister in 2002. They (NC and PDP) are playing dirty politics, he claimed.
Commenting on double Omar accord on the pattern of double Farooq accord Lone said, It is a conspiracy to divide Hurriyat. But we wont allow anybody to succeed in this.
He vowed to carry forward the mission of his late father Abdul Gani Lone. I have long back said goodbye to the election politics. My father gave his blood for the rights of people. I will carry forward his mission, he added.
On the occasion senior Hurriyat (M) leader Prof Abdul Gani Bhat and Ghulam Nabi Zaki of Awami Action Committee were also present.
