Demands an apology from Congress chief
SRINAGAR: A top leader of National Conference demanded an apology from State Congress President Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz over his latest remarks on Article 370 and claimed that the Congress party will be wiped out from Kashmir in the 2014 polls.
Congress is the coalition partner in the government led by National Conference.
Additional General Secretary National Conference (NC) Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal said, It was Congress which diluted Article 370. Soz is making such statements for petty political interests. He is giving feeling that in 2014 Congress will emerge as the single largest party. But he isnt aware that in 2014 Congress will be wiped out from the State.
People are well aware of conspiracies of Congress as they have always ditched them. It is in the best interests of New Delhi to restore the Autonomy of J&K before the 2014 elections. If they fail they will have to pay price for it national as well as international levels, he claimed.
The NC leader alleged that New Delhi wants to keep Kashmiris as slaves and are misusing resources of J&K. Be it water or forests, they are looting our natural resources. Both India and Pakistan have made J&K as a source to earn money and some people from the state are hand in glove with them, he claimed.
Soz had on Thursday said his party was committed to protect the special status of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 of the Constitution of India.
The Congress party is duty-bound to safeguard the internal autonomy of the people of the Jammu and Kashmir as enshrined in the Constitution of India in the form of Article 370, Soz, had said while addressing a party convention at Budgam.
He had emphasized that this Article will ever remain as an integral part of the Constitution of India. KNS
