SRINAGAR- At least 125 passengers onboard 25 vehicles, who were stranded in snow at Pir-ki-Gali, were rescued on Tuesday, an official spokesman said today.
The passengers were on way from Poonch to Shopian via Mughal Road when they got stranded at Pir-ki-Gali due to slippery road conditions following heavy snowfall in the area.
Teams from the District Administration rushed to the spot and rescued the stranded passengers. The rescue team started the operation in the evening despite heavy snowfall. They also rescued the live stock of Gujjar and Bakerwals, an official spokesman said.
