SRINAGAR: The Central University of Kashmir (CUK) foundation stone laying ceremony will be held on May 28, 2013, at its identified site in Ganderbal district.
The date was fixed after due consultations with the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and the State Government.
Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Dr. M M Pallam Raju, Chief Minister of the State, Mr. Omar Abdullah, CUK Chancellor, Dr. Srikumar Banerjee, Ministers in the State cabinet, senior government functionaries, members of the statutory bodies of the University, and eminent citizens would also grace the occasion.
The ceremony, which was earlier scheduled on November 16, 2012, was postponed due to the cabinet reshuffle in the Union Government and the subsequent change of portfolio in the Ministry of Human Resource Development.
