Karnah Hospital Without Power, Ambulance

Despite CM’s directives, administration unmoved: BMO

KARNAH :  Despite Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s directives , authorities have turned a blind eye towards Karnah where medical facilities were virtually non-existent. 

The residents of the area alleged that a woman recently died due to non availability of ambulance. “We don’t have electricity in the hospital. The officials are relying on gas,”  the residents alleged.

Meanwhile BMO Karnah Mohammad Yousuf said that he had made so many pleas to higher authorities regarding the non-availability of electric supply to the hospital but nothing has been done yet.

“Chief Minster during his visit here had directed authorities for providing the power facility but nobody seems bothered,” BMO said.

He said that there were two ambulances with the hospital, however both of them were non functional. He said that though the local NHPC officers had promised of a power supply to the hospital so that we could carry out surgeries, but they seem to have backtracked from their promises.

 Locals alleged that the hospital has suffered sever damage during 2005 earthquake and has not been fully resorted even after 8 years.

Meanwhile Director Heath Services said that the funds have been already released.

 “We have released the funds and I will see, why these funds  have not been utilized as yet.” Director health services Kashmir. Dr. Saleem-ur- Rehman said on Monday.
