SRINAGAR: Journalist, political commentator and author of Curfewed Night Basharat Peer was stopped at Srinagar airport by police on Monday after a BSF official complained to the authorities that Peer had taken some photographs in mid air.
According to reports Basharat Peer while travelling from Delhi to Srinagar had clicked a couple of photographs of the fascinating clouds somewhere between Jammu and Banihal. A co-passenger, who identified himself as a BSF official objected to it saying photography compromises national security.
Eyewitnesses said that it lead to an argument between the two and as soon as the plane landed in Srinagar, the official complained to Police and Peer was detained. However he was let go after the cops and airlines authorities saw the pictures that were shot by Peer midair.
The co-passenger, who objected to the photography of Peer, according to sources has been identified as a top BSF officer.
