SRINAGAR: Police Saturday apprehended four persons for allegedly taking money fraudulently from the people.
Superintendent of Police, City North, TahirSalimsaid that four people were fraudulently collecting money from the shopkeepers in Jamia Market Sriangar. These people were narrating woeful tale about an unknown patient and were asking people to contribute some money for his treatment, Salim said and added that these people were also using public address system for this purpose.
Nazir Ahmad Parray son of GhulamMohi-ud-din Parray resident of Fatehkadal, Muhammad Ashraf Dar son of Ghulam Ahmad from AlochiBagh, Mashooq Shah son of Farooq Ahmad Shah from AripathanBeerwah and Sameer Shah son of Abdul Hameed Shah from AripathanBeerwah were collecting money from people using public address system and traveling in a van (JK01C9361) inside Jamia Masjid Market.
Shopkeepers suspected them and called Police station Nowhatta. Upon questioning the suspects, they were unable to produce any document for the use of public address system for collection of money, SP said and added that a case vide FIR number 24/2013 U/S 420 RPC was registered against these persons and investigation is going on.
