SRINAGAR: Following acquittal of Hurriyat leader Nayeem Ahmad Khan, State Government today challenged the verdict of Sub-Judge Pattan in the Court of District Jail Baramulla and filed a revision petition.
Police arrested National Front Chairman and Hurriyat leader, Nayeem Khan in February this year slapping 13 cases of unlawful activities on him.
The counsel for Nayeem Khan, Rafiq Ahmed Joo said that Court of Principal District and Session Judge, Baramulla has called the record from the subordinate court and also has summoned the accused (Nayeem Khan).
Yes, State has filed a revision petition and the hearing of this case has been fixed on May 2nd for further proceedings, Joo said.
When contacted, Pattan police declined to comment on the matter. We have no knowledge about it so we cant say anything, a police official said.
