SRINAGAR: To streamline traffic in Srinagar city a meeting was convened by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Traffic Kashmir here on Thursday.
Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Kashmir Mohammad Anees, SP Traffic City Haseeb-ur-Rahman, Dy SP traffic north and south, presidents of Haji Transport, Western, Star, New Kashmir, Shahenshah and Harmukh transport agencies were also present in the meeting.
The DIG Traffic Jagjit Kumar gave a patient hearing to all the participants and got a feedback from the participants particularly from the presidents of various transport companys. With the Durbar move in focus special traffic related issues were discussed and certain new innovative measures were also discussed which will be implemented in the coming days.
The Traffic department has sought the cooperation of general public and transport companies to improve overall traffic scenario in Srinagar city. Traffic police will be acting tough against the violators particularly drivers without uniform, without seat belt, sitting on ladies reserved seats and other visible offenders from April 20.
