SRINAGAR: In an apparent case of rash driving on National Highway, a Tata Mobile (JKD-1971) Wednesday met with an accident near flour mill Bijbehara. Seven non locals got injured in the accident out of which two succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.
The deceased were identified as 24 years old Basho Rashdev, resident of Jumka Nepal and 25 years old Mehta Pasvan son of Pahriya from Bhusniya Bihar.
Eyewitnesses told CNS that the driver of the Tata Mobile was trying to over take another truck and during this course of overtaking it turned turtle and met with an accident.
Till last reports driver of the truck Mudasir Ahmad was found absconding.
Meanwhile in another traffic accident at Pattan, a youth namely Sajad Mushtaq Kirwani from Qamarwari Srinagar was seriously injured when he was hit by a van bearing registration number JKOIP O237. The said vehicle was on its way from Srinagar to Pattan. He was immediately shifted to SKIMS for treatment where his condition is stated to be critical. SHO Pattan told CNS that the Police has arrested the driver Ghulam Hassan Mir and a case has been registered against him. (CNS)
