Justice Nazki To Head School Fee Panel

SRINAGAR: The government has appointed the former Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court, Justice (retd) Bilal A Nazki, to head a committee to fix the fee structure for the state’s private schools.

Justice Nazki will nominate a chartered accountant to the five-man panel whose other members are to be drawn from the Board of School Education and the department of education.

Sources in the education ministry said that the panel had been set up in line with a Supreme Court ruling for a uniform fee structure for private schools which, in Kashmir, have come in for severe criticism for commercialising education and effecting high-handed and arbitrary fee hikes.
