Tral Shutdown Against Nocturnal Raids

SRINAGAR: Complete shutdown was observed in South Kashmir’s Dadsara area of Tral town against the arrest of two youth. Locals said that both these youth were paying the price as their relatives are militants, however police claimed that both the arrested youth are involved in militancy related activities.

According to reports, Police and SOG personnel during nocturnal raids in Dadasara area of Tral, arrested two youth namely Suhail Khazar Bhat and Hamid Bashir Mir.

The brother of Hamid Bashir Mir according to locals is allegedly associated with militant outfit Hizbul Mujahdheen. However, police claimed that both the youth are involved in militancy related activities. “These are militants and involved in militancy related activities,” Sub Divisional police Officer, Awantipora, Parvez Ahemd said.

People resented the action of the police and observed a complete shut down in the area and demanded immediate release of the youth. “Both these boys are paying price just because their relatives are allegedly involved in militancy related activities, but we can tell you with authority that these youth are innocent and they have been rounded up to pressurize their relatives,” locals said.
