SRINAGAR: Angry protests broke out on Monday at several places in the valley to decry the ongoing massive unscheduled power curtailment.
Residents in a number of places in the Kulgam took to the streets early this morning and held a demonstration in the main square, holding up traffic to and from Anantnag for several hours.
Similar protests were held in the Kawad, Anantnag, Dayalgam and a number of other places in South Kashmir, with people complaining that power supply had been heavily disrupted for the past three days.
Protestors also halted traffic on the Srinagar-Jammu Highway near Awantipur.
Reports of demonstrations over unscheduled power curtailment have come from North Kashmir town of Kupwara as well.
