JAMMU: Minister for Social Welfare, Ms. Sakina Itoo today informed the House that to clear the pendency of pension and other financial assistance cases in the State under Centrally Sponsored Welfare Schemes, the Government has taken up the matter with Union Ministry of Rural Development for allotment of funds.
Replying to a question Minister said that funds required for clearing the pendency of pension cases of deserving persons under Integrated Social Security Service (ISSS) would be made available shortly.
The Minister said that in all 4152 cases are pending for pension and financial assistance in R. S. Pura Constituency under different welfare schemes, of which 1765 cases are pending under ISSS and 2387 cases under National Social Assistance Programme.
LPG home delivery in the State by June: Ramzan
Minister for CA&PD and Transport, Ch. Mohammad Ramzan today informed the House that all major towns of the State would be provided LPG cylinder home delivery facility from June this year, adding that this facility would be extended to rural areas also after July this year.
Replying to supplementaries the Minister said that home delivery of LPG cylinder in capital cities has proved successful and at present 95% consumers of Srinagar city and 92% consumers of Jammu are availing this facility.
The Minister said that all blocks of the State would be provided LPG agencies. He said in this regard Government is going to setup 172 new gas agencies in the State and due consideration would be given to each area especially remote areas while opening these gas agencies. He said to enhance the cap of LPG cylinders from 9 to 12; the matter has been already taken up with the Centre.
The Minister said that enforcement agency of the Department have been already activated to keep close vigil and check on the smooth delivery and distribution of LPG cylinders to the consumers at all sale outlets, adding that in this regard under Regulation And Supplies Violators Rule the powers have been also vested to Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners to check the same in their districts.
Replying to the main question, the Minister said that general public has been informed through print and electronic media to avail the facility of home delivery by booking their request either personally or telephonically at Srinagar and Jammu. He said meetings have been convened with the officers of oil companies and LPG dealers for ensuring home delivery to the consumers with in the Municipal limits of Jammu and Srinagar.
7390 daily wage, casual workers in PHE, 45220 shortfall: Sham
Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma today informed the House that 7390 workers on daily wage basis, casual labours and CPS workers have been engaged in PHE department in the State, adding that these are being paid [email protected] Rs. 125 per day. He said there is short fall of 45220 staff in the department in both divisions of which 399 short falling Ramnagar Constituency and 417 in Samba Constituency.
Replying to a question the Minister said to meet the deficiencies of the staff in the department 640 vacancies including vacancies of Ramnagar and Samba constituencies have already referred to the concerned recruiting agencies for selection.
