SRINAGAR: District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Mr. Farooq Ahmad Shah today convened meeting of officers for the immediate widening of National Highway from Pantha Chowk to Sempora here today.
Among others SE R&B, SE ERA, SP Traffic, SP City and officers of PDD, Irrigation and Flood Control, PHE, BSNL, NHAI, Municipal Corporation attended the meeting.
Threadbare discussions were held for expediting the widening of National highway at Pantha Chowk besides the removal of encroachments and other bottle necks including popular trees and shifting of utilities across the road.
It was given out in the meeting that the affected families due to widening of the road shall be rehabilitated on priority to avoid any inconvenience to these people.
The DDC exhorted upon the officers of R&B, PDD and BSNL for immediate shifting of utilities besides falling of poplar trees across the National Highway.
The stone crushers across the road shall be shifted from smooth plying of traffic, the meeting was added.
Shah impressed upon the traffic authorities for restricting the movement of tippers from 1 am to 11 am in the morning and from 4 pm to 6 pm in the evening on National Highway.
