SRINAGAR: The JKLF has reacted with outrage on police and paramilitary raids last night on the offices and homes of its leaders, including chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik.
As reported by the Kashmir Observer on Friday, forces personnel had cordoned off the Maisuma area late on Thursday night, and carried out searches at the homes of Mailk his maternal uncle, apart from the JKLF headquarter.
The Front today said that the raids had been conducted to arrest some of its leaders, including Noor Muhammad Kalwal.
The home of another JKLF leader, Muhammad Yasin Bhat, also was raided, a spokesman of the party said.
Malik, who his under house arrest since his return from Pakistan, said that the government was gunning for Kalwal and Bhat as if they were not political leaders but some underworld elements.
It proves that the government of India and its Kashmiri minions cannot tolerate any peaceful political activity here, he said.
