JAMMU: Stating that the NC’s return to power in valley had triggered a total collapse of the peace process ‘in true tradition of the party that has always thrived on discord, disturbance and instability’, the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party today slammed the state government for putting people to inhuman miseries in the valley.

“That reality is highlighted most sadly by the fact that even a rare prime ministerial visit to Kashmir under the present dispensation had to be provided with the cover of undeclared curfew which is a measure of the gulf created by the NC led government. But very few people miss the method in this apparent madness; the aim of the NC is to ensure complete alienation of people, push them to boycott and expand their party’s chances of benefiting from low voter turnout  beyond urban centers like Srinagar that helped them in previous elections to retain its existence”, said a resolution passed by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) here today.

The party has defended its decision to boycott the ongoing session of teh state assembly and said that it was the only democratic option which would have conveyed their displeasure to the central government.
