UCFI Launches 1st J&K T20 Championship


SRINAGAR: United Cricket Federation of India (UCFI) with the motive to hunt cricketing talent from each block, tehsil and districts of J&K state launched 1st J&K T20 Championship 2013 to provide them a platform where they can show their talent at various National and International level, a press statement said today.

It said that UCFI is keen to promote, develop and control the game of cricket in J&K state and provide free cricket coaching and dresses to talented and deserving candidates. The registration for players is starting from 25th March to 15th April 2013.

Its president UCFI Safeer Ahmed gave his assurance that each and every hidden latent in state will get right opportunity for showing their talent and achieve their goals. He acknowledged the promotion and development of cricket in the state and announced the prizes for this championship which includes that winner to get 3 lakhs, runner up 1.5 lakhs, man of the series bike, top scorer of the tournament bike, top wicket taker laptop, most sixes LCD TV, most catches smart phone, best wicket keeper smart phone, best fielder smart phone and best captain to get laptop.

Vice President Zaffar Iqbal said that in the history of cricket in J&K this is ever biggest event of cricket in the state in which the players from each and every corner of the state will participate and it will rise the opportunities and platform of cricket for talented players.

Joint Secretary Sports Sham Saini said UCFI will also promote other sports like football, hockey, wrestling, kababdi, karate, badminton etc and general awareness camps from time to time to make an awareness among the youth of state.

Its Secretary Zaheer Choudhary ensures that this federation and championship will be executed on the basis of ground work and will restrict the involvement of communalism and politics.

UCFI will select excellent and good players who have showed their brilliant talent during this championship and will provide them free coaching for cricket in India and abroad as well, the statement stated.

Lot of Players and other dignitaries including Farooq Ahmed Qdari, Sanjay Kumar Bali, Surinder Kumar Bhagat, S. Surinder Singh, Ram Krishan Chowdhary, S. Dharminder Singh, Irshad Ahmed Rana were present on the occasion of launching of 1st J&K T20 championship.
