JAMMU: Power Development Department today announced amnesty scheme for domestic consumers.
The scheme envisages waiver of surcharge on the outstanding electricity dues up to March 31st 2011.
Pursuant to Cabinet decision, the Power Development Department has issued a Government Order NO: 96-PDD of 2013 date 26.03.2013 where-under Amnesty Scheme for domestic consumers has been given, an official spokesman said.
The domestic consumer who have defaulted have been advised to deposit the principal dues by March 31, 2013 failing which they shall not be entitled to any exemption in future, besides their electricity connection shall be disconnected, he said.
Such domestic consumers who have paid their bill on time shall not be entitled to any refund, he clarified and added this scheme shall not have any impact on the power dues of 2011-12 and 2012-13 which must be deposited by the consumers.
PDD has advised the domestic consumers to contact concerned electric Divisional/ Sub- divisional authorities for any clarification.
