SRINAGAR: Patients and attendants at Sub District Hospital Pattan today protested against shortage of doctors and para-medical staff in the hospital.

“There are no specialists, no gynaecologist, paediatrician and no ophthalmologist. It makes patients suffer and has made this hospital dysfunctional”, a group of patients and attendants told KNS.

They said that non availability of blood bank puts patient’s lives at risk while hospital building is also damaged.

When contacted, the local MLA said, “I’ve approached concerned minister several times with the grievance but all his assurances proved futile till date”. He said that current regime is engaged to fill its pockets and has no concern for the grievances of common people. He claimed that the hospital was deliberately being ignored by authorities.
