SRINAGAR:  Claiming that CRPF was people and media friendly, Inspector General CRPF, S.S.Sandhu Tuesday rejected the allegations that para-military force was involved in excesses.

“We take strict action against the erring personnel whenever we receive any complaint from the people. Excesses committed by few can’t prove that all CRPF personnel are involved. There are better and responsible officers and personnel in our force who are media and people friendly,” Sandhu told reporters on the sidelines of a function in South Kashmir’s Islamabad district.

He said sometimes situation demands strict action and people usually suffer then. “It is wrong to say that CRPF personnel indulge in smashing window panes and doors or beat people at random. Stone can come from any side and when you are dealing with law and order problem, people are bound to suffer,” he said.

Inspector General CRPF, S.S.Sandhu claimed that CRPF has got some important clues about the attack on IRP personnel in Handwara. “Our personnel are on the job and soon the assailants will get exposed,” he said.
