SHO Files Case Against PDP Leader

SRINAGAR: Police Saturday filed an FIR against Peoples Democratic Party leader in Budgam district after he allegedly manhandled the local Station House Officer.

SHO, Budgam Irfan Ahmed alleged that a Beeru resident had been illegally confined in the residence of PDP leader Agha Syed Mehmood.

”When I along with a police party reached his residence to seek the release of the man, PDP leader along with his son and supporters first misbehaved and later manhandled me,” SHO alleged adding that an FIR has been lodged against the political leader for illegally confining a person in his house.

Refuting such allegations, PDP leader said that the police personnel accompanying SHO Budgam are witness to it. “It was me who called SHO to get a person from Beeru arrested as that person had attacked some of my family members. I didn’t misbehave with the police officer. On the contrary he (SHO) violated the norms and threatened everyone present there of dire consequences after he was asked by the people why he didn’t turn up on time.

SHO Budgam said that police has lodged an FIR against the political leader and action will be initiated against him. (CNS)
