JAMMU: Twelve candidates today filed their nomination papers for the elections to vacant seats of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council before the Secretary Legislative Assembly here.
Those who filed the papers include Davinder Singh Rana, Showkat Hussain and Abdul Majeed from National Conference, Muzaffar Ahmad Parray , Naresh Gupta and Ms Rani Baloria from Congress and Naeem Akhtar Andrabi and Yashpal Sharma from PDP.
Other candidates who filed their nomination papers include Shuban Krishen Dudha, Mohammad Iqbal, Sardar Kaaloo Khan Hamdard and Mohammad Amin Bhat .
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand, member of Council of Ministers, Member, Rajya Sabha, and President Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee, Saifudin Soz were also present at the time of filing of nomination papers.
Secretary, Legislative Assembly Mohammad Ramzan acted as the returning officer for the Biennial Elections to the Legislative Council.
