SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon today directed the officers of all the districts to ensure home delivery of LPG in all the areas of the Valley so that consumers are facilitated by obtaining LPG at their doorsteps.
Div Com was interacting with Additional Deputy Commissioners of all the districts through Video Conferencing here today.All the Heads of the departments of Kashmir division were present on the occasion.
Dr. Samoon said that 60 LPG agencies need to be created against existing 43 agencies functioning in the Valley so that maximum coverage of all the areas is ensured. He directed for proper publicity of numbers and areas of operation of all the Gas dealers through print and electronic media.
Dr. Samoon asked all Additional Deputy Commissioners to regularly monitor the stock and supply position of essential commodities in their respective districts besides lift the kerosene oil in time for distribution among the consumers.
Div Com directed transport authorities to strictly adhere to the arrangements already in place for ferrying devotees on the eve of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW). He issued instructions to Sumo drivers to charge Rs. 10 from the passengers stop to stop, or otherwise Government will put in service Radio Tax in place of Sumo service.
The issues like drainage problem, market checking and quality of essential commodities also came under discussion and it was resolved that the problems confronting people shall be solved in a phased manner.
