SRINGAR: Clear skies after snowfall have warmed days slightly in Kashmir, but sent night temperature plunging below zero again, even as the meteorological department forecast more snow on Wednesday and Thursday.

After a brief respite from sub-zero cold across Kashmir, Srinagar was minus 3 degrees Celsius on Sunday night, even as Pahalgam in south reeled under minus 20 degrees – a drop of seven degrees over the previous night.

Mercury fell another degree in Gulmarg during the period, settling at a low of minus 11.8 degrees.
