JAMMU: Speaker Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Mr. Mohammad Akbar Lone, today directed the officers of Central Silk Board to handover 12 hectares of land at Safapora on the bank of Mansbal Lake at the earliest for establishing Artisan village.
This decision was taken in a meeting of officers convened to discuss with establishment of Heritage Complex and Development of Artisan village at Mansbal.
It was emphasized upon the officers that the work on the project would be taken in hand urgently so that the necessary infrastructure is developed under the already approved central sponsored scheme.
Addressing the meeting, the Speaker said that this prestigious project will benefit the state as also the region in promotion of tourism, culture and heritage adding that this project has immense academic and cultural importance.
The meeting was attended by Convener, Indian National Trust for Art and Culture Heritage (J&K Chapter) (INTACH), M. Saleem Beigh, Chief Executive Officer Wullar Mansbal Development Authority, M. Nazir Ahmad Mir, Director, Central Silk Board (Government of India) Dr. Khursheed Ahmad Suhaf, Joint Director, Central Silk Board, Sheikh Manzoor Qadri and Co-convener INTACH Altaf Hussain.
