JAMMU Governor N. N. Vohra has condoled the sad demise of Mr. Madanjeet Singh, Founder of South Asia Foundation, who passed away in France on Sunday.
In a condolence message, the Governor recalled the late Mr. Madanjeet Singhs extraordinary contribution towards the establishment of the South Asia Foundation. The Governor, who is Chancellor of the Kashmir University and Chairman of the Institute of Kashmir Studies, University of Kashmir, particularly recalled Mr. Singhs invaluable support to the development of this Institute and enabling it to offer scholarships to academics and others, selected from the various SAARC countries, for pursuing their research projects on varied subjects.
The Governor conveyed his sympathy to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
