SRINAGAR: The police today allegedly refused to file a complaint after enforcement personnel of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation were beaten up by a party who were busy in some illegal construction work, SMC spokesperson said.
While conducting the routine inspection regarding illegal constructions in the ward Palpora It was observed by the ward officer along with his assistance team that a resident of Goripora namely Ghulam Mohmad Wani S/O Abdul Aziz Wani was constructing an illegal shop in the odd hours of Sunday. After the Concerned Ward Officer Umar Din Chauhan intervened and asked for the permission, the offender along with his family members and a maison namely Showkat Ahmed Wani thrashed the entire staff and critically injured one of the officials, the spokesperson said in a statement here.
On approaching police station Saffakadal to lodge an FIR against the offenders, The Police however after playing delay tactics refused to lodge an FIR against the violators said Ward Officer Chauhaan, the statement added.
