Farooq Greets Parvez for Selection in India-A Squad


NEW DELHI: Union Minster and JKCA President Dr. Farooq Abdullah has congratulated J&K Ranji Trophy all-rounder Parvez Rasool for his inclusion in the ‘India – A’  cricket team that shall play a one day match against the touring England side on the 6th of January at Palam cricket ground, New Delhi.

Dr. Abdullah in a message to Parvez said, “I am very happy to know about your selection in the ‘India – A’ cricket team. It is indeed a matter of great pride and honour for the J&K Cricket Association that you have been selected to represent the country in a match against the touring English cricket team. I wish you and ‘India – A’ cricket team all the very best for the match on the 6th of January”.

“This unprecedented achievement is a result of your untiring efforts, grit and determination and shall surely inspire the younger generation of cricketers in the State”,Dr. Abdullah added.

Dr. Abdullah also complimented J&K chief coach Bishen Singh Bedi and team staff for their expert guidance and encouragement to the team in general and Parvez Rasool in particular.

JKCA Chairman Aslam Goni, Treasurer Manzoor Wazir, office bearers and working committee members have also complimented Parvez Rasool for his achievement. It is worthwhile to mention that Parvez Rasool, hailing from Bijbehara, Anantnag has taken 33 wickets and scored 594 runs in the current Ranji Trophy season which includes two centuries and three half centuries with the highest score of 171 runs against Goa.
