SRINAGAR: While sticking to his claims of ill treatment with the district of Pulwama as far as development and allocation of funds was concerned, GN Ratanpuri today dared the Advisor to Chief Minister and senior NC leader Mubarak Gul to bring out a statement detailing allocation of all districts particularly those of Jammu and Leh region.
While hitting back at a detailed statement issued by Gul, Ratanpuri said, : I have gone through the contents of the press note issued by Advisor to CM Mr. Mubarak Gul enumerating the works taken up by the government in Pulwama. Even if the figures given by him are taken as absolute truth, it does not address my concerns nor does it refute the facts put forth by me. I dare the Advisor to CM to come out with the details of expenditures and investment in all sectors, i.e district plan, state plan, special schemes, PMRP, ERA, loans from LIC, NABARD, ADB, World Bank, special central government schemes and packages like JNNURM, Tourism circuits, education, social welfare, energy, etc. in all the districts particularly Pulwama and the districts of Leh and Jammu region
Launching a scathing attack at Gul, Ratanpuri said, The comparative study may be too tough for the “born big time hero and mature politician,” who may never have been a tumbakhnaari nachayya, but people with knowledge of simple arithmetic will be shocked.
I have raised some pertinent questions and the Advisor of great intellect should have tried to look for their answers before signing on the dotted line, he added.
If “great lineage” makes one to lick shoes of the powerful; political maturity means waging as the tail of well-connected junior and taking snubs then shedding tears and begging for favours is wisdom, then people of my tribe are comfortable as “small time idiots”, the statement from Ratanpuri reads.
Gul Asks Rattanpuri to Desist From Cheap Publicity
Reacting to the reported assertion by Rajya Sabha member of the National Conference G. N. Rattanpuri carried by a section of local media, Advisor to the Chief Minister, Mubarak Gul today described it sheer ignorance of Rattanpuri of the ground realities.
If the statement attributed to him is really given by him then it unfortunately reflects the gulf between Rattanpuri and the people of Pulwama who are witness to the substantial development that took place in the district during the last four years along with other parts of the State, Gul said adding that works on ground itself speak louder and clear. Before issuing any statement had Rattanpuri ascertained the development graph of the district Pulwama, he would have never uttered such words if he has at all spoken these, Mubarak Gul maintained.
