SRINAGAR: The National Conference (NC) on Tuesday started its membership drive from Anantnag district which was inaugurated by the party General Secretary Sheikh Nazir Ahmed at the party headquarters Nawia-Subh.
Kick starting the membership drive from Anantnag the first phase will include Khurporu, Dachnipora, Dooru Shahabad, Kokernag Shangus and Anantnag blocks.
Sheikh Nazir said that the National Conference through this drive should spread message of the party to each and every corner of the state.
Nazir exhorted the workers to enroll more and more persons as members of the party. He said that membership drive was an opportunity to establish contact with maximum number of people and to educate them about the policies and programmes of the party.
He said that it was duty of the party workers to properly educate the people about the visionary policies and programmes of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah and the party.
He said the party represents the aspiration of all the sections of the society and all the regions. He added that NC is the only party which can and will safe guard the interest of the people and ensure that our special status is never diluted. He said by joining NC people can work for welfare of our society. Nazir appealed to people to make the drive successful.
