SRINAGAR: Top leaders of the Jamaat-e-Islami in Pakistan, who met Hurriyat (M) leaders in Islamabad, said that the trip would have been more fruitful had all separatist parties undertaken the visit.
The Pakistan Jamaat-e-Islami chief Munawwar Hussain and general secretary Liaquat Balloch stressed for unity in the Kashmiri resistance camp, and said that public opinion in their country could have been mobilised better had all groups in the camp come on the trip.
The stand of our party right from the beginning has been that Kashmiris should be granted the right to self-determination, Munawwar Hussain was quoted by the Hurriyat (M) as having said.
Bilateral talks and negotiations held so far with respect to Kashmir have not yielded anything, he said.
Pakistan should not give India the Most Favoured Nation status until the latter resolves the Kashmir issue, he said.
