SRINAGAR: Two Kupwara militants returning home via Nepal after 20 years in PaK have been detained by the police in Jammu along with wives and children, reports said.
The police said that it had apprehended a group of 17 members, including 13 children and 2 women during a raid on the Cheni Himmatwalla area of the summer capital.
The two males have been identified as Ali Muhammad and his son-in-law Muhammad Akbar, both from Kupwara, who had gone across the LoC in the Keran sector for arms training 20 years ago.
Ali Muhammad had been accompanied by his wife Naseema Bibi in the trip over the frontier, and in PaK Muhamad Akbar had married his daughter, the police said.
Preliminary questioning of the duo suggests that the group flew to Kathmandu from Islamabad, and then entered Bihar, travelling to Jammu by train.
The group had taken refuge in a house in the Jammu area, but was apprehended by the police on a tip-off, reports said.
