Sopore to shut down on Friday

SOPORE – Terming the unabated cases of theft in the town as failure of district and police administration,  Sopore Traders Front has called for a complete shut down Friday to protest the alleged failure of the administration to unveil the offenders behind the cases of burglary.

“We’re compelled to observe complete shut down in the Sopore town on Friday to express our anger against the district administration which have failed so for to unveil the offenders and o stop the unabated thefts in the area”, said TF Chairman Haji Mohammad Asharaf Ganie.

 “We have brought the matter in the notice of IGP Kashmir but no arrangements have been put on place for the prevention of these thefts,” he added.

He said that if the authorities again fail to protect business establishments in the area from thefts , a massive agitation will be launched.

“We’ve decided to observe complete shut down on Friday after consultations with every section of the society. Traders, transporters and other people have agreed upon the suggestion to mark a peaceful protest against the negligence and failure of district administration to unveil the offenders behind the scene, on Friday ”, said Ganie.
