KUPWARA – The Additional District Development Commissioner, Kupwara, Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Bhat today started a drive against the use of non-biodegradable polythene at Kupwara. A large number of people including citizens, traders and shopkeepers participated in the Anti-Polythene drive
The Executive Officer, Municipal Committee, Kupwara and Food Safety Officer also participated in the rally with banners and posters.
While addressed the rally at Ragipora, he asked for the co-operation to curb the use of polythene so that the environment is saved from the hazardous effects of the polythene.
On the occasion, 10 quintals of polythene were seized from the shopkeepers and destroyed.
