SRINAGAR, NOV 24: To review the pace of progress on widening works of 4-lane National Highway Project, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon convened a high level meeting of officers here today.
The Divisional Commissioner directed all concerned to remove the bottlenecks for ensuring smooth traffic movement all along the National Highway from Qazigund to Srinagar especially at Parimpora to Panthachowk and HMT crossing. He also directed for cutting down the poplar and other trees on the National Highway standing on the land being acquired for the widening of National Highway. Divisional Commissioner also stressed for quick disposal of court case relating to compensation of the land being acquired for the purpose.
On the occasion, the Divisional Commissioner stressed upon the concerned officers to speed up the developmental tempo for timely achievement of targets.
The meeting among others was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Chief Engineer R&B, Chief Engineer Electric Maintenance and Rural Electrification, Collector Land Acquisition, Anantnag and Kulgam.
