SRINAGAR – Inspector General of Police (IPG) SM Sahai today relesed two books at a function held at Dak Bangalow Anantnag.
Sources said, Shahai inaugurated book titled Khushboo e kashmir written by Manoj Sheeri, a police officer by Profession and incharge police media Kashmir and another a collection of urdu poems by Dr Mohamad shafi Ayaz.
The book by Manoj was released by IGP Kashmir S M Sahai. IGP said that efforts like these are to be appreciated, Manoj being a ploice officer has managed to squeeze some time for his literary activities and its a commendable job, said IGP kashmir Mr S M Sahai. He said that more people should follow the footsteps of Manoj and follow their passion whether it be for writing or any other constructive activity.
The function was organized by Mehjoor Foundation (MF) in collaboration with District Administration. Various renowned poets, intellectuals, civil and police officers including Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Farooq Ahmad, DIG Vijay Kumar, Chairman MF Abdaal Mehjoor and General Secretary MF Ishafaq Lone were present on the occasion.
The IGP assured all possible help to Mehjoor foundation for literary and cultural pursits.He said that police will continue to provide help and assisstance in order to harvest the latent talents in literature,sports and other cocircullar activities.Three research papers on mehjoor were read on this occasion.Reports said that the book by Dr Muhammad
Shafi Ayaz was unveiled by the Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC), Anantnag, Farooq Ahmad Shah. Meanwhile Sahitya Academy award winner Gulam Nabi Aatish ,writer Zahid Mukhtar and Imran Yusuf presented
their papers on Mehjoor and Kashmiri Language.
Addressing the audience, IGP said that the Police department is having the officers who are intelligent and are interested in and promoting the Kashmiri Culture.
Manoj Sheeri is one of the examples. He appreciated Shri for writing the book and encouraged the Police officers for such activities.
Police is the part of society and I ensure you of every possible help in promoting culture and cultural activities. Police is ready to assist these activities, he added.
Dealing with the law and order situation, Police officers are also serving the nation through cultural activities and the book authored by Manoj Shri is one of the examples of it, said Sahai. Later, Mehfil e Mushayrah was held in which various poets presented their poetry.
