SRINAGAR – A program on continued medical education (CME) was held at the Government Medical College auditorium here to highlight the imperatives of peace for public health.
During the programme, general-secretary, Indian Doctors for Peace and Development (IDPD), Dr Arun Mitra, spoke on Peace A Public Health Perspective. It was followed by a quiz for GMC students conducted by senior national VP, IDPD, Dr Bawa.
Speaking at the inaugural function, acting principle GMC, Prof. Kaisar Ahmad, lauded the role of IDPD in public awareness and stressed that peace and harmony were important ingredients of a healthy society
In his welcome address, Prof. G. M. Malik, state president, IDPD, highlighted different activities of IDPD at national and international levels and stated that peace and harmony were of utmost importance for public health.
Among others, Prof Lateef, Prof Bashir A Chapoo, Prof M Lateef Chasti, Prof A R Nasti, Prof Sajjad Majeed Qazi, Prof Rifat Fazli, Prof Ruby Rashid, Dr Reyez Tasleem and Dr Nazir Mushatq, faculty members and GMC students attended the function.
