The satellite television no doubt has revolutionized the way we watch the programmes nowadays, but it is leading us to the path where our lives could be miserable. Where ever you go, people talk about Saas-Bahu serials which are not only broadcasted on one channel but on some other channels as well. There are almost a dozen channels showcasing these kind of serials.
The leading one is the Star Plus which has gone so far in order to achieve the highest number of TRP ratings. The serials on this channel are leading our women folk to the way, which will definitely lead them to quarrels and will make their lives a living hell. The time our mothers and sisters watch these kind of silly serials, they start comparing them with their personal lives and became adamant to live these kind of lifestyles.
I very much remember the day when there was only one channel and that was Doordarshan. The competence level of this channel was so high that the serials, which were being broadcasted are truly worth watching. Some of the serials which include, Hum Log, Buniyad, Yeh Jo Hain Zindagi Nukkad and Rajini are the best ones. These serials have done a lot of good things to the humanity in general and to the common people on particular. Those were really the golden days in the Indian television industry.
You cant imagine one day, I was travelling in a bus when suddenly I hear the voice of two women talking about the passing away of a person, who was thrashed and killed by his friend. The conversation between these two women was so deep that I believe that they have lost one of their loved ones in the family.
Its only after when I confirm with them that it was not a loved one but they were talking about the one who is working in a television serial which airs everyday in the evening on Star Plus. I was shell shocked to learn that the intensity of the channel is so much that our women have forget about our personal lives and the tragedy of Kashmiris as well.
This is high time to watch it out that what kind of channels should we see, otherwise our future will go into the dark era, from where we cant come out.
