Asks shopkeepers, food vendors to sell fresh, quality products
SRINAGAR – In wake of Muharram days, the Srinagar Municipal Corporation has intensified market checking in different city areas particularly those dominated by Shia population.
The Media Relations Officer of SMC said a team of Food Safety Officers, on the directions of Health Officer SMC Dr Rubeena Shaaheen, conducted market checking in the different areas of the Srinagar city.
Sanitation and hygiene conditions at different shops and establishments apart from vendors were thoroughly checked. Directions were strictly passed on to the shopkeepers and owners of food establishments to keep their premises clean and serve fresh and quality food products to consumers, the officer said.
The routine market checking will continue during these Muharram days and the food establishment owners are directed to stick to the Food Safety Standards and norms, said the health officer SMC
