Shah Leaves For Delhi To Meet Pak HC

SRINAGAR (KMN) – Senior Hurriyat Conference (M) leader and Democratic Freedom Party president, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, left here Saturday for New Delhi to meet with the Pakistan high commissioner, Salman Bashir. The meeting comes close on the heels of the visit of a high-level delegation of the conglomerate led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq which had met the Pakistan diplomats to finalize the itinerary of Hurriyat visit to Pakistan sometime in December.

Quoting a DFP spokesman, reports said the deputy high commissioner of Pakistan in New Delhi, Babar Amin, had telephoned Shah to invite him for talks with the high commissioner. Soon after, he left for New Delhi.

It may be recalled Shah had expressed his shock over the report that Mirwaiz had not taken the forum’s Executive Council on board before finalizing the composition of the delegation for meeting with Pakistani authorities. He had even voiced his reservations over the timing of the proposed Hurriyat visit to Pakistan in view of the upcoming elections in that country.
